Associate/Scientist

Sarah Kozyn is an international agriculture and economic growth specialist with nine years of experience designing, managing, monitoring, and evaluating USAID and Feed the Future market systems, resilience, nutrition, and trade programs. Her work at Abt has spanned the globe, including Uganda, Cambodia, Egypt, Ghana, and Bangladesh. She is a former Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal and is pursuing an MS-MBA in Food and Agribusiness Management from Purdue University and Indiana University.

Kozyn is the technical project officer for the $23 million USAID-funded Uganda Integrated Community Agriculture and Nutrition Activity and the $36 million Feed the Future Egypt Rural Agribusiness Strengthening Project. She supports the Uganda and Egypt project teams in activity planning, work plan development, and technical deliverable review and manages select activities. Kozyn also spearheads the International Development Division’s strategy in agricultural development and resilience and co-leads Abt’s 300+ member network of food security and agriculture specialists.

In addition to these roles, Kozyn supports business development opportunities for agriculture, economic growth, and nutrition and has directly contributed to winning $77 million in new business. For more than a year, she co-designed with USAID/Bangladesh the $21 million Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity. She developed the technical strategy for and co-wrote the winning proposal for the $36 million Feed the Future Egypt Rural Agribusiness Strengthening Project.
