The PMI VectorLink project is introducing Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) to Cote d’Ivoire for the first time in 2020, building on nearly a decade of lessons learned from Abt’s Africa Indoor Residual Spraying project, and expanding the country’s toolkit for controlling the malaria-transmitting mosquito population.

Despite bouts of political instability since 2002, Cote d’Ivoire is the world's largest exporter of cocoa beans, and its citizens enjoy a relatively high level of income compared to other countries in West Africa.
Abt Global leads a number of projects that are improving the lives of Cote d’Ivoire residents by reducing the burden of malaria, shrinking barriers to regional trade and strengthening the private health sector and overall health system.
Since the PSHP project began activities in Cote d'Ivoire in 2015, more than 70,000 people have been tested and counseled on HIV, with over 6,000 persons placed on treatment.
