Principal Associate/Scientist, Health & Environment

Jane Fox focuses on health services research and the evaluation of community health programs using her expertise in enhancing access to quality care for persons living with HIV/AIDS. This includes her more than 25-years of experience working in Health Resources and Services Administration-funded HIV care services programs. Her research includes patient, provider and systems factors impacting engagement and retention in HIV primary care for vulnerable populations.

Early in her career, Fox worked as the Executive Director of a non-profit AIDS Service Organization managing Ryan White and CDC HIV prevention funding received from the state. She also worked at the state level in the Ryan White AIDS Drug Assistance Program and as an evaluator of HIV care agencies. She has several years of experience conducting training and providing technical assistance to clinics and organizations from her time at the Southeast AIDS Training and Education Center at Emory University. Prior to joining Abt, Fox was a researcher at Boston University, where she served in a leadership role on several HRSA SPNS-funded multi-site evaluation and technical assistance centers on a variety of topics intersecting with HIV, including oral health, homelessness, employment, behavioral health, medical homes and systems and data linkage.

Fox is a member of the University of Nevada Reno School of Public Health’s Community Advisory Board, and is on the board of directors of Northern Nevada HOPES, a Federally Qualified Health Center. Both entities are focused on a community-centered approach to care.
