Diversity in International Development

In this discussion, sponsored by Abt’s employee networking group Black@Abt, Saraounia will discuss Diversity, how/why most attempts in International development are falling short, how language and knowledge valuation are used to entrench inequities and why in 2022, allyship must go further.

Saraounia Mboka-Boyer

Saraounia is an Inclusion Engineer, Agile consultant, Capacity Development and Organizational Systems strengthening Advisor focusing on the integration of representative and intersectional inclusion, Localization, sustainability, and in the international development context.  As an inclusion engineer, Saraounia focuses on ‘representative diversity’ and the intersectional adaptation of program teams.

With over 13 years of experience working in international development and humanitarian aid systems, and 16 years living across Africa, Saraounia brings deep practitioner knowledge; She specializes in GESI, SCRUM frameworks, capacity development, conflict mitigation, community mobilization, and systems strengthening. Saraounia currently works as an Agile transformation consultant for Scrum inc, applying a social impact lens to Scrum, where agile and the scrum framework, are key to firms adaptively engaging global and domestic challenges.

Saraounia is on the board of None on Record and is the founder of the Love Africa Initiative.
