DHIS2 Symposium 2022
Abt Global is pleased to be a Silver Sponsor of the 2022 DHIS2 Symposium, which brings together experts from global development agencies, governments, and NGOs with a shared goal of using data to drive decision-making and real-world impact. DHIS2 is the world’s largest health information management system and is offered as a global public good.
Representatives from Abt look forward to engaging with the global DHIS2 community, discovering new partnerships, and sharing how our DHIS2-connected solutions are powering data capture, analysis, and program improvement worldwide.
Abt’s Presentations:
October 20, 12:45 - 1:30 p.m. ET
DHIS2 for Feed the Future
Abt Global has implemented DHIS2 as the core of an organization-wide monitoring and evaluation platform. Abt is using DHIS2 for several agriculture projects and has developed a set of common indicators for USAID Feed the Future programming. We will discuss our architecture as well as our development processes and challenges.

"We need to track what?": Design and rollout of a DHIS2 Tracker program to survey a novel invasive malaria mosquito in Ethiopia
For the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative, the VectorLink Project is implementing larval source management (LSM) in Ethiopia to control for Anopheles stephensi, an invasive malaria vector recently detected in Africa. The VectorLink team developed and are actively implementing a comprehensive, multi-stage DHIS2 Tracker program to support the LSM activity in six towns across approximately 98,000 properties. Presenters will describe the development and launch of the PMI VectorLink LSM Tracker program and share challenges, lessons learned and recommendations that can be applied to other non-traditional health DHIS2 Tracker use-cases.

Event Reports, Tableau Visualizations, Custom Applications: Solutions for Finding Duplicates in Event Model Programs in DHIS2
With large-scale data entry, a common data quality concern is duplicate records that can skew analyses and interpretation of results. The PMI VectorLink project uses a global DHIS2-based ecosystem, VectorLink Collect (VLC), to manage vector control and entomological data. The team developed several approaches to identify and clean duplicates across different data streams. The presentation will introduce the problem of hard-to-find duplicate entries in DHIS2. The presenters will provide a breakdown of the VLC duplicate detection solutions and a discussion of pros and cons of each solution with particular focus on tools being able to be used and maintained by country-level end-users.
