JPMorgan Chase is funding innovative solutions to address economic inequality and Abt is serving as JPMorgan Chase’s national evaluation partner for the AdvancingCities Challenge and PRO Neighborhoods competitions. In this role, we evaluated the outcomes and impact of investments of the AdvancingCities grantees. This report also captures lessons learned from 2019’s five grantees in the following areas:

• Adapting program outreach to increase participation by underserved populations.
• Enhancing service offerings to meet participants’ needs.
• Increasing support for small businesses to help them survive and thrive.
• Adapting job training programs to align with employers’ talent needs.
• Lessons from systems change activities.
